MANUU Celebrates Independence Day

Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan, Vice-Chancellor, Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) today unfurled the tricolor at University campus on the 80th Independence Day celebration.
Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan in his message highlighted the deep connection of Urdu language with the Freedom struggle and said that the word ‘Azadi’ has been mentioned repeatedly in Urdu literature. Talking about freedom, the Vice Chancellor said that the Maulana Azad National Urdu University, which has been established in the name of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, very well understands the purpose of this freedom. Urdu has a very close connection with the freedom struggle. Our poets, scholars, writers, freedom fighters have taken an equal part in this freedom struggle. They sacrificed their lives for freedom and now it is our responsibility to value this Ganga-Jamni civilization, he added.
The Vice Chancellor advised the students to keep the importance of freedom in mind and always protect it. In Universities, the students, teachers and non-teaching staff have equal and important role and when everyone performs their responsibilities properly the desired goals can be achieved easily.
The Vice-Chancellor also distributed NCC ‘B’ & ‘C’ Certificates to MANUU NCC Cadets.
Earlier, MANUU Sub-Unit NCC cadets presented guard of honour. Prof. Ishtiaque Ahmed, Registrar and Prof. Mohammed Abdul Azeem, Proctor accompanied the Vice-Chancellor during the Parade.
Students presented patriotic songs on the occasion under the supervision of Prof. Mohd. Muzaffar Hussain Khan, Department of Education & Training and Dr. Meraj Ahmad, Cultural Coordinator.
Dr. Mohammed Yousuf Khan, Chairman, National Event Committee announced the names of NCC Cadets and informed that 20 NCC cadets cleared NCC ‘B’ certificate exam whereas 10 cadets cleared NCC ‘C’ certificate. He also detailed about the activities of MANUUNCC Cadets.
Dr. Mohd. Mustafa Ali Sarwari, PRO I/c convened the programme and proposed vote of thanks. Lieutenant Mohd. Abdul Mujeeb, Associate NCC Officer supervised the parade preparation of MANUU NCC cadets. Instructional Media Centre of MANUU live streamed the programme on IMC MANUU youtube channel.
The faculty members, officers, staff and a large number of students attended the programme.
