“Visit Urdu University” Programme begins in MANUU

Hyderabad has been a hub of peaceful culture. The culture of Deccani Urdu has worked to unite the people and to promote this culture the then ruler Mir Osman Ali Khan had established Osmania University here. These views were expressed by Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan, Vice Chancellor, Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) today in the inaugural function of the second phase of the programme “Visit Urdu University”.

This program was started last year with an aim of promoting educational opportunities available at MANUU. In today’s programme students from three different Madrasas – Darul Uloom Rahmaniya, Al-Muhad Al-Aali vo Arabi and Aisha Niswan were invited.

Continuing his presidential address, the Vice Chancellor said after the change in medium of instruction at Osmania University, now MANUU is the only University providing professional, technical and traditional education to the large number of Urdu speakers. Here, English language is also taught to students so that they do not lack behind at the time of employment.

Addressing the students of madrasas in particular, he said that here in MANUU no one made fun of your dress, burqa, etc. rather it is viewed with respect. Apart from this, the University also plans to provide lunch at concessional rates for day scholars. There is also a plan to run RTC special buses for students coming from different parts of the cities and half of the bus fare will be paid by the University.

Prof. Syed Najmul Hasan, Coordinator, Alumni Affairs in his address advised visiting students to take advantage of the courses available at MANUU and make their future bright.

Dr. Mohd. Mustafa Ali Sarwari, PRO spoke about passout students of the University. He explained how MANU students have achieved success in the country and abroad and are living a successful life today.

He advised Madarsa students, who want to pursue courses in science, law etc. apart from BA or MA, should clear their 10th and 12th examinations from the state government open schooling i.e. TOSS. After that they can enroll in any technical or professional course.

Mr. Aijaz Ali Quraishi, Advocate, President, MAA and Madrasa’s officials also spoke on this occasion. Dr. M. A. Quddus, Assistant Registrar, Estate Section, MANUU and Mr. Nasir Husain Shoaib, General Secretary, MAA were also present.
