IBPC Sharjah – Blood Donation Drive

The Indian Business and Professional Council – Sharjah, in association with Association of Kerala Medical Graduates (AKMG Emirates) and Blood Transfusion and Research Dept. Ministry of Sharjah has successfully conducted a Blood Donation Camp on Wednesday, 11^th July, 2012.

The Blood donation drive which was spearheaded by Dr. Sunny Kurian – Management Committee Member of  IBPC Sharjah and President of AKMG Emirates-Sharjah took place between 10 am to 4 pm at the India Trade and Exhibition Centre m.e , Al Khan , Next to Sharjah Expo, Al Tawun R/A, Sharjah – UAE.

In a statement issued by Ms. Sri Priyaa, Director General of IBPC Sharjah / ITEC m.e. she mentioned that “113  donors donated blood this year which is one of the record collection made by the Blood Transfusion Department. One pint of blood can save up to three lives and someone needs blood every two seconds. This noble effort of IBPC Sharjah will help save many precious lives. She thanked the members of IBPC Sharjah and the corporates associated with ITEC m.e. who came in great numbers to donate blood generously.” She also mentioned that with Ramadan fast approaching and the summer in its peak the need for such blood donation drive is very vital.

Donors at the driver also were scanned for blood pressure and Blood sugar test courtesy of Dr. Sunny Healthcare Group and refreshments were served courtesy Tiffany, IFFCO group.

Mr. A.K. Bhardwaj , Consul – Passport,  Indian Consulate in Dubai was also present at the blood donation drive and gave away the certificate of appreciation to the donors.

“It should be noted that IBPC Sharjah has always been aware of its corporate social responsibility and has conducted various humanitarian activities in coordination with its members, corporates, affiliate bodies and government departments. It is the 4^th time that IBPC is organizing such a camp and the previous camp was very successful again with a record of 110 donors donating blood at the event.”
