Scientific Tamil Oration Competition
For School Students
Module – I
Development of Scientific Tamil is an Essential task, our common goal. Many are working in this arena and we congratulate and appreciate all involved in this task. Oration competition in Tamil is a well established module long time back and it has paved way for the Tamils to identify talents among the generation next. To move further on, we now move on to the next level by conducting a series of oration competitions in Tamil, involving the whole of the Tamil Diaspora simultaneously.
What is the Scientific Basis for this Module Design?
Mirror neurons, located in the Cerebral Hemisphere of the Brain discovered accidentally by Neurologists in Italy during the end of the 20th Century (1990), allow humans to learn complex social behavior that forms the foundation for Human Civilization. They are a part of the Brains motor system correlated with specific goals involved in the feelings of empathy and play a central role in speech. Using the Mirror Neurons for the Development of Scientific Tamil is the goal of Scientific Tamil Foundation. Viewing these educational videos will allow other students across the Diaspora to learn the art of delivering good speech in Tamil and it would create a new generation of Tamils motivated to speak in Tamil
Who were involved in the E – Learning Module – One ?
This module is accomplished by 3 Individual Organizations. This is a Joint venture by (1) K.G International School, an esteemed Institute located at Annur (641653) at Coimbatore District ; (2) Vallamai ; (3) Manavai Mustafa Scientific Tamil Foundation
Possible benefits for the students participating in the module
The Tamil Diaspora could identify the hidden talents among the Tamils and could invite the best of the students to deliver scientific talks in their respective countries in the future; this is possible as Tamil is a truly international language.
This will motivate the Tamil children in the Diaspora to learn the art of speaking good Tamil and children teach children better.
Design of the Innovative E – Learning Module:
· Each competition will last for 100 Days.
· 5 Students were selected from K.G International School.
· Students selection was purely based on their individual capability without any sort of bias.
· The Vallamai Group and Scientific Tamil Foundation provided 5 topics which were distributed to the students by a lot system though the principal.
· 15 Days was given for the students to prepare the speech; they were allowed to obtain help from teachers, family, and friends.
· On the 16th, a copy of the final draft was submitted to Head of the School Department for screening of the document.
· The video recording was done by the staff members of the School.
· On Day One of the Competition all the videos will be simultaneously released in the Scientific Tamil Foundations Educational You Tube channel.

· The hits obtained by each of the videos will be intimated to the students via the notice board once in every 10 Days from Day 10 to Day 100
· The secret ballot from the colloquium will be obtained from the selected list of 50 Scholars from the Internet world.
· Based upon the number of hits and the votes from the colloquium the final results will be decided.
· The prize will be “One Thousand Rupees” and a certificate issued issued by the Scientific Tamil Foundation.
There will be only one prize, however all the participants will be issued appreciation certificates
· The prize money will be handed over to the principal and will be given to the students during the Annual Day of the College by the Principal.
· The Scientific Tamil Foundation will be conducting 12 competitions across 12 Educational Institutions per year.

Constitution of the colloquium Members will be as follows,
· Voting can be done by any of the Tamils from the Diaspora, Each of the vote will carry One Point.
· Additionally, Voting will be done by a selected list of 50 Scholars of the Vallamai Network, their names will be available at the Vallamai Website.
· Each member of the colloquium can vote the videos with a minimum of 1 point and a maximum of 10 points
· The criteria for evaluation will be available at the Vallamai Website for the attention of the colloquium members, Each of their votes will carry three points.
· The number of hits will also add to the final point score
· 3 Points for 100 Views for views originating within India
· 5 Points for 100 Views for views originating outside India, to avoid any deviations from standard norms.
